Gila is a Director of the practice and the Pilates and Corrective Exercise Expert. She runs her own hybrid Pilates business, including a Pilates membership called ‘CORE’, helping busy women all over the world to build strength, improve flexibility and feel good about themselves through her own unique approach ‘B.E.S.T’.
She is a published author with her book ‘Enjoy Moving and Feel Fabulous: A Pilates Lifestyle for Busy Women’ and her companion journal ‘I Choose to Move’.
She is Co-Founder and Director of The Applied Technique Hub, raising the skill level of musculo-skeletal manual medicine practitioners through a professional development training platform and face to face courses.
Gila’s background is as a Primary School teacher and a Primary Physical Education specialist. She worked for several years as a Physical Education advisor for Derbyshire County Council before providing freelance consultancy to primary schools in Physical Education. During this time, she wrote several resources to support primary teachers in the assessment of Physical Education, Physical Literacy Intervention Programmes for children with a delay in their motor co-ordination and booklets for early years providers and parents to encourage and educate on the importance of moving from birth. Gila has over 20 years’ experience in ‘movement’ and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, researching Physical Literacy and gaining the knowledge and understanding of how important movement is for all of us throughout our lives.
She herself trained in ballet for 20 years and competed and coached Sports Acrobatics Gymnastics to a national level.
She qualified as a Pilates Instructor with The Pilates Institute in 2003, updating her qualification to a Level 3 Fitness Pilates instructor in 2019 and Level 4 Pilates Instructor with pre and post natal qualifications in 2021. She brings her experience in ballet, gymnastics and movement to her Pilates teaching.
